Okay, okay, so NASA it ain't. This is the picture my camera got when I pointed it to the heavens two nights ago. Aram was extremely amused as he was looking at the moon through binoculars. "You're not going to get very much," he warned. "In case you hadn't noticed, it's very far away."
I was undaunted. I pointed my 4 megapixel Canon digital camera at the sky and eventually found the moon. Then, for good measure, I increased the zoom to as high as it would go and raised my arms over my head.

Oh well.
I actually caught a glimpse of last night lunar eclipse and I have to say I was impressed. My husband came home after a rehearsal (he plays in a Klezmer band, actually) and said he was going to stand outside for a while to look at the moon. I thought he was nuts, particularly since it was about 17 degrees out last night, but then I became intrigued. I walked out to the driveway with him, with nothing more than a sweatshirt to keep out the cold and looked up.
The moon was about 3/4 or more eclipsed. The eclipsed part was a orange-red and very, very beautiful. "I'm getting my camera!" I declared and ran back to the house. I ran back out again and pointed upwards. Aram, my husband, started laughing and said that I wouldn't get much of a picture. "Hey, I have a zoom lens!" I retorted and zoomed it as far as it would go.
Well, I got this little white blur for a picture but at least it was the moon. I haven't downloaded it to the computer yet and it's not going to be very impressive when I do. So, until then, here's another picture of the eclipse shot taken, I'm sure, with a more powerful camera! LOL!
